Ischgl is one of the most famous and appreciated ski resorts in Austria, located very close to the Swiss border. It offers 239 km of ski slopes at an altitude of almost 3000 m above sea level, and 45 modern lifts / cableways. Snow usually starts in late November and lasts until May. Thanks to this, you will have driving conditions here for practically six months. Ischgl's strengths are also amazing views . Reaching the highest parts of the resort, you can count on a very extensive Alpine panorama.

In addition to the slopes, there are also cross-country skiing tracks, ziplines, a toboggan run, numerous excellent restaurants and various events that will make your time during long winter evenings. In summer, Ischgl becomes a much quieter and slightly more deserted place. But it's still worth dropping by because of the hiking and biking trails.

For whom?

Ischgl is primarily a proposition for skiers and snowboarders . Let's be honest - 90% of tourists visit this part of Austria to skip the slopes there. And Ischgl undoubtedly has great terrain to ride, and the accompanying infrastructure is of a really high standard (and it's not just the altitude we mean).

Recommended accomodations

Here are the accommodations that we can recommend with a clear conscience. We only recommend hotels that we have visited ourselves.

Versalerhof

My girlfriend and I spent 4 nights at the Versalerhof during our winter vacation. Overall, we have rather positive memories from there. The hotel offers a good standard, there is a large ski room (but unfortunately there are few shoe dryers) and free parking. We liked the room very much, especially that it had a kitchenette, which gave us some independence.

Hotel Tannenhof

This hotel is 3 km from the Ischgl ski center, but there is a free ski bus from there. It offers a really good standard - it is modernly furnished, but maintaining the traditional Alpine style. It was great that the price of our stay included both breakfast and dinner. There is also a SPA on site.

Apart Chamins

In Ischgl I decided to rent the Chamins apartment. It was a great choice. The apartment with a balcony was of a great standard. In addition, there is a balcony and a quite extensive view of the mountains. Another advantage was the proximity to the ski slopes - the Pardaschgrat cable car is right next to it. I recommend the place to skiers.

Apart Garni Laresch

The Garni Laresch apartments are located 4 km from Ischgl. I stayed there only because it was impossible to rent anything in the ski resort (I recommend making reservations in this area well in advance). The facility is very good - clean, bright interior. The price is also quite reasonable.
