Admont is a small town in Styria . Although it is not the most famous place in Austria , it certainly deserves even a short visit. This is where Stift Admont is located. It houses the world's largest monastic library. There are 70,000 books on its shelves, while the entire abbey has almost 120,000 of them.

The library is also an architectural gem. Its interiors will surely delight you. In addition, there are four museums in the monastery: Contemporary Art, Natural History, Gothic and Fine Arts. As a result, you can easily plan the whole day there and not be bored for a moment. If you are tired of visiting the monastery, then you can go for a walk. Admont is located in the midst of wonderful alpine landscapes . You will surely like the idyllic atmosphere of this area.

For whom?

A visit to Admont is sure to be an interesting proposition if you are interested in history . The monastery is an unusual place on the map of Austria, which impresses with both its architecture, location, as well as works of art, books and museum exhibits gathered inside.

Hotel Spirodom

The Spirodom Hotel made a positive impression on me. Mainly because of the location. It is located among meadows and its windows offer a wonderful view of the mountain peaks. An ideal place for relaxation, because it is a less crowded corner of Austria. There is a small SPA with a swimming pool on site. It is literally three steps to the monastery in Admont.

Landgasthof Buchner

The guesthouse is truly recommendable. Here I fully felt the atmosphere of Austria. Located in the center of Admont, it offers great conditions. Nice decor, intimate atmosphere, tasty meals. The price was unbelievable. In addition, there are many interesting places to see in the immediate vicinity.

JUFA Hotel Schloss Röthelstein

Staying in this place is an amazing experience in itself. The hotel is located in a beautiful castle. The view from it is simply amazing. Mountains, nature – something wonderful! Of course, it's not cheap, but in my opinion you should stay there at least for one night. Plus the food – a fairy tale!

Villa Elisabeth

Villa Elisabeth is a classic Austrian guesthouse. The conditions are simple, so homely. As a result, it is extremely cozy there. The owner is very nice, but her English is average, so it's worth learning a few words of German. This does not change the fact that he cares about the good atmosphere of this place. I recommend taking the option with breakfast, because they are very tasty.
