Sfax , also known as Safakis, is one of those Tunisian places where you will be able to see the authentic and non-commercial face of this country. Tourists don't come here too often. But if they do, then they are not disappointed. Sfax has a great old town surrounded by historic walls.

Passing through one of the gates leading to the city center is a kind of a journey in time, and the impressive buildings with soaring minarets of mosques at the head create a unique atmosphere. Sfax is also a lot of European architecture, which is a reminder of the French. The city is also famous for its excellent cuisine , based on locally available products. And if you want a break from the city atmosphere, then go to the Kerkennah Islands . There you will find beautiful beaches, bird watching and swimming with numerous fish and other aquatic creatures.

For whom?

Undoubtedly, Sfax is a good destination if you want to get to know the less touristic side of Tunisia . And while it's not the most popular excursion destination with overseas visitors, there are plenty of attractions waiting for you anyway. You will be able to explore , enjoy delicious cuisine or relax on one of the wild beaches.
