Dougga is the most important and impressive archaeological site you will find in Tunisia. It is just over 100 km away from Tunis. Is it worth a visit? Sure! You will be able to admire the ruins of a Roman city , which, despite the passage of many centuries, have been preserved in really good condition.

The highlights of Dougg's stand include a theater that could seat 3,500 spectators , a Christian church, the Temple of Saturn and Neptune, and a host of other facilities. The location is also an advantage of this place - on a plateau elevated above the area. Thanks to this, while walking among the ruins, you will also be able to admire pleasant views. Dougga was included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List in 1997.
For whom?
A visit to the Dougga Archaeological Park is an ideal proposition for all fans of history, excavations and a bit more distant history. If you are one of them, you will definitely enjoy your time there. If, on the other hand, archeology is not your passion, but you like nice views , you will also like it in Dougga.
