Marsa Alam (مرسى علم) is the southernmost resort on the Egyptian Red Sea coast. The town itself is not very impressive, but you can find a really beautiful coral reef in this area. Since it is quite shallow here, you can admire it practically standing on the shore. Of course, it's best to get a mask and a tube. Traditional diving is also possible here.

Recreational resorts are located practically at every bay and a nicer part of the reef. However, there are not so many of them here, as in Hurghada, and the distances between them are large, so they allow for an intimate vacation . Marsa Alam had a chance to develop thanks to the international airport , which opened in 2006. True, it is located some 70 km north of the city, but thanks to it, a bit more people have started to arrive here. But don't worry - you don't have to worry about the crowds!

For whom?

Choose Marsa Alam if you want to admire the reef, turtles and beautiful views . This resort, or rather its surroundings, is very intimate, and the resorts allow for a calmer rest . Of course, if you decide to go on optional trips, e.g. to Luxor, you have to take into account the long hours spent on the bus. But, as the saying goes, something for something.

Here are the accommodations that we can recommend with a clear conscience. We only recommend hotels that we have visited ourselves.

Gemma Resort

We spent a week at Gemma Resort. The resort is really great. Nice outdoor swimming pool, beautiful beach with sun loungers and umbrellas. A rather calmer atmosphere, there were very few tourists there in September. The food was excellent - a huge selection of dishes and products. The all-inclusive price is very affordable.
Sataya Resort Marsa Alam

Sataya Resort Marsa Alam

Sataya is the perfect place for a family vacation. The resort has a swimming pool complex and slides, so it's perfect for kids. The meals were very tasty, even our little grumpy ones liked everything. WiFi unfortunately, as in many hotels in Egypt, practically does not work, so it is worth equipping yourself with a local SIM card. Beach right next door.

Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort

The Hilton Hotel in Marsa Alam will certainly meet the expectations of even the most demanding customers. Excellent stay conditions. Our room was decorated very tastefully. Large bathroom, nice furniture, interesting decorations. Outdoor pool, nice garden, beautiful location, wonderful views. A perfect place for a vacation!

Deep south Eco-lodge

My girlfriend and I decided to stay at Deep south Eco-lodge because we wanted a more intimate accommodation. We don't like typical all-inclusive hotels. There are rustic cottages for rent here that allow you to truly experience Egypt. The conditions are very good. The beach, views, sea - everything is great!
Rayhana Guest House

Rayhana Guest House

We have very nice memories of our stay at the Rayhana guesthouse. Thanks to our stay there, we were able to look at Egypt from a different perspective. Marsa Alam is a small town, there is not much here. But there are nice beaches, although sometimes the sea is quite rough here. The guesthouse offers good conditions for little money. The owners are nice and helpful.
