Luxor , located in the Nile Valley, is a popular destination for optional excursions from resorts such as Marsa Alam and Hurghada. What attracts tourists to it? First of all, its monuments. It is thanks to them that Luxor is sometimes referred to as a huge open-air museum. There is indeed a lot to admire here.

Luxor

Luxor, Egypt

Starting from the Karnak Temple Complex , through the Luxor Museum , to the nearby Valleys of the Kings and Queens . Not only is it worth visiting the city on a day trip. It is worth planning a slightly longer stay here in order to explore its attractions at a slightly calmer pace. Because not only the city is interesting. But also the Nile itself. Watching what is happening on the river and taking part in a cruise to, for example, Banana Island, is also entertainment in itself.

For whom?

If you would like to see some of the most important monuments of Egypt , then be sure to plan a trip to Luxor. The city is fascinating and worth exploring without haste. It is also a good base for a cruise on the Nile.

Nefertiti Hotel Luxor

Initially, I wasn't going to spend the night in Luxor, but I was so absorbed in the city that I changed my mind. I stayed at the Nefertiti Hotel. Although it is located a bit from Karnak, at least it is close to the center. Great conditions. Beautiful view from the roof terrace. The coffee drank there in the morning tasted delicious. The breakfasts were also great.

Steigenberger Nile Palace Luxor - Convention Center

Steigenberger Nile Palace is a high-class, very exclusive hotel. Brilliant location - on the banks of the Nile, overlooking the river. A swimming pool from which you can also admire the surroundings. The interiors are decorated with a great sense of style. My apartment was huge and extremely comfortable. Interestingly, the price wasn't terribly high at all.
El Mesala Hotel

El Mesala Hotel

El Mesala is a hotel located on the opposite bank of the river from the very center. But you can get there quite easily by water taxi. I liked this place because it has a quite calm atmosphere. You can sit on the terrace and watch the everyday life of the Nile. Homely, cozy conditions.
Steigenberger Resort Achti

Steigenberger Resort Achti

The hotel is quite modern and located close to the Nile. If you have the opportunity, I recommend taking rooms on a higher floor to have a view of the river. You won't regret it! There is a swimming pool outside, a place to sit and admire the surroundings. Very comfortable bed, bright interior. Breakfasts strong 9 out of 10.
Djorff Palace

Djorff Palace

Djorff Palace enchanted us. This is the best place to stay in Luxor in our opinion. The fact that it is on the other bank of the Nile, but offers a nice view of the city. Large garden, swimming pool, everything well-kept and pampered. There is also a boat that takes tourists to the other side. The value for money is also very positive.
