Aswan (Aswan, أسوان ), although in theory it is far from the main tourist routes, it is a very important point on the map of Egypt. It is located in the south of the country , at the first cataract of the Nile . It has played a strategic role in the history of Egypt for centuries. This includes from local quarries came the rock blocks used to build ... incl. pyramids!

Aswan

Aswan, Egypt

Today, this bustling city is a popular destination for Nile cruises. But if you are not planning a rafting trip, you should consider visiting Aswan anyway. You will find a lot of attractions here. One of the more interesting is the Unfinished Obelisk , which is still partially attached to the rock it was built from. It has a trifle… 3500 years! Aswan has also many museums. One of the most important ones is devoted to the Nubian culture and civilization. Of course, you will also find ancient temples here. The most popular is the Abu Simbel temple complex.

For whom?

Visit Aswan if you would like to deepen your knowledge about Egypt and are looking for places where typical all-inclusive tourists do not reach . Here, too, you can count on a slightly more authentic atmosphere and the opportunity to look at this country from a less commercial side.

Citymax Hotel Aswan

In Aswan I stayed at the Citymax hotel. It was a very good choice, because it is located close to the Nile, offering a beautiful view of it. There are swimming pools, slides and a large outdoor area. The service was very nice and incredibly proactive. The room was large and clean.

Aswan Nubian House

A brilliant place, on an island on the Nile! The interiors are decorated in a traditional style. Woven, colorful materials make the whole thing cozy. Beautiful views of the river and the surrounding area. Delicious, local food. Everything is fresh and prepared with great care.

Eco Nubia

This is one of those places that can be said to have a soul. Situated on an island south of Aswan. The perfect place to relax and forget about God's world a bit. Beach, views, peace and quiet, friendly service. Everything at the highest, world-class level. Affordable price.

Habibi Nubian Guesthouse Aswan

In Egypt, it is sometimes difficult to find intimate accommodation. But the Habibi Nubian guesthouse allows you to really feel the slightly less commercial atmosphere of this country. This is not a typical all-inclusive behemoth, just a small hotel. Simple but very neat conditions. The price was low, but it included a tasty breakfast. I recommend!
Tolip Aswan Hotel

Tolip Aswan Hotel

We stayed at the Tolip Hotel in Aswan for three nights. It was a very successful stay, during which we used the swimming pools and could enjoy the wonderful view of the Nile. It may not be the most modern or newest hotel, but the conditions are very good, the employees are nice and everything was as it should be.
