Abydos is now a small town located on the west bank of the Nile. However, in antiquity it was much larger and played a significant role. First of all, it was here that the first rulers of Egypt were buried . The archaeological work carried out in the tombs was extremely fruitful. Among others, perfectly preserved ceramics, royal emblems, and it was discovered that the Egyptian writing developed much earlier than originally assumed.

Over time, Abydos became a kind of pilgrimage center for the followers of Osiris . Every year there was a colorful procession in honor of the god of the underworld. Tourists rarely come here. And if any do appear, they are attracted there ... hieroglyphs reminiscent of space vehicles. You will find them directly in the temple dedicated to Osiris, on a small fragment of one of the walls.

For whom?

Fans of various conspiracy-space theories should definitely drop by Abydos to see the famous hieroglyphs depicting the helicopter and other vehicles that look like alive taken from sci-fi movies. Although the Temple of Osiris is not very impressive, archeology enthusiasts will surely appreciate its historical value.
